En el periódico ADN del 2 de Junio del 2010 me he encontrado un artículo muy bueno escrito por José M. Cabrero de Barcelona que dice lo siguiente:
La violencia de Israel
Increíble el último acto de violenia de Israel, pero más increíble la tibia respuesta de la comunidad Internacional.

Si hubiera sido Irán…Teorías conspiratorias al margen, deberíamos reflexionar. ¿ Por qué se permite a Israel escupir a las leyes y resoluciones internacionales? Crímenes de guerra; bombardeos sobre civiles, hospitales y escuelas; asesinatos selectivos… Todo vale. Si se le cuestiona, su fuerza mediática responde.

La tele o un documento sobre el Holocausto, o una buena película a modo de contramedida, como si los muertos de Israel fueran mejores que los del resto de naciones y moneda de cambio para justificar todos sus actos.

La Casa Blanca rehusaba el viernes pronunciarse sobre el asalto a la Flotilla de la Libertad de Gaza mientras no se conociesen todos los detalles. Efectivamente, la censura militar y el encarcelamiento de los testigos oculares impedían conocer esos detalles hasta ayer. Pero el diario británico The Guardian ha filtrado ya el resultado de las autopsias realizadas a los nueve muertos y los cooperantes han podido ser interrogados por la prensa independiente. Hay que recordar además que en el Mavi Marmara viajaban más de cien periodistas, algunos de ellos sin duda activistas, pero muchos otros profesionales que simplemente cubrían la historia. Con todos esos datos y testimonios puede intentarse ya un primer relato no censurado de lo que sucedió la madrugada del lunes en aguas internacionales del Mediterráneo.

Inicialmente, el plan israelí era abordar los barcos desde lanchas, pero salió mal. Las dos zódiacs de la Armada israelí, que llevaban a una docena de comandos, no consiguieron mantenerse estables junto al casco del Mavi Marmara , a pesar de que este navegaba tan solo a 8 nudos. A los cooperantes del barco les bastaron las mangueras antiincendios (el arma que se suele utilizar contra las lanchas de Greenpeace) para mantener a raya a las unidades de élite israelíes.

Fue entonces cuando el comandante de la operación decidió cambiar de estrategia: lo intentarían desde helicópteros. Pero el efecto sorpresa se había perdido ya y la cubierta estaba llena de gente. Los gases lacrimógenos lanzados desde el aire, recogidos por los cooperantes, fueron a parar a las lanchas zódiac y el asalto de los comandos resultó igual de chapucero. De los cuarenta que debían lanzarse simultáneamente, tan solo cuatro lograron bajar.

Varios de los testigos coinciden en que ya desde el aire, los helicópteros empezaron a abrir fuego sobre los cooperantes y que ya había heridos de bala en cubierta antes de que el primer soldado pusiese un pie en el barco. Las propias autoridades israelíes, sin pretenderlo, han venido a dar credibilidad a este relato: en el vídeo que han difundido esta parte crucial ha sido suprimida.

De lo que siguió entonces fue testigo el cámara serbio Stojan Stojiljkovic: los soldados fueron capturados incluso antes de tocar el suelo. Algunos activistas los agredieron, pero otros se interpusieron y lograron llevárselos a la cubierta, donde se encontraba el médico de la expedición, que fue el primero en atenderlos. Israel ha cambiado varias veces su versión, asegurando en un principio que los cooperantes los recibieron a tiros y luego que los disparos se habían hecho con armas arrebatadas a sus soldados (es decir, después de que llegasen). Los testigos, sin embargo, coinciden en que los cooperantes tiraron las armas por la borda. En esto están de acuerdo tanto Matthias Gardel, trabajador humanitario sueco, como la británica Alexandra Lort Phillips, quien, en declaraciones a The Times, relata su alivio al ver que se deshacían del arma de un soldado tan pronto lograron reducirlo. «Podían haberle disparado allí mismo si hubiesen querido». Significativamente, Israel no ha acusado formalmente a ningún cooperante por estos hechos.

Los soldados no practicaban en ese momento el mismo autocontrol. A la sala donde el médico curaba a dos de los soldados, empezaron a llegar cooperantes heridos de bala, alguno ya moribundo. Uno de ellos presentaba un disparo entre los ojos, otro era un fotógrafo turco con un impacto en la nuca. Las autopsias muestran una pauta: todos recibieron disparos a quemarropa, en algún caso a menos de treinta centímetros. Más llamativo resulta que varios de ellos fueron alcanzados en la nuca y por la espalda. Es el caso del campeón turco de taekuondo (y entrenador del equipo nacional) Cetin Topcuotlu y del político Ibrahim Bilgen, de sesenta años. El joven norteamericano de 19 años Furkan Dogan recibió hasta cinco disparos, y otro de los cooperantes, seis.

También merece destacarse otra curiosidad: fue un mismo soldado quien mató a seis de las nueve personas, y se da la circunstancia de que fue el último en llegar al barco, no uno de los que fueron agredidos. Israel ha declarado su nombre secreto de Estado y le ha propuesto para una medalla al valor.

Creo que es la última opinión que hago sobre este pueblo que al actuar así no vale la pena ni mencionarlo, hacer de cuenta que no existe, porque personas que actúan así solo merecen desprecio.
Que como actuó, masacrando gente, entre esa gente muerta muchos niños y todo porqué, por unas elecciones que iban a tener, a ver cuál era el candidato más bravucón y más despiadado que tenían. Desafortunadamente o afortunadamente ganó la mujer Tpizi Livni, que lógicamente no debe ser Mary Poppins.
Ya tuvieron sus elecciones, lo demás no importa, el acto vil que cometieron con los palestinos, eso ya quedó atrás, en el olvido, sin ningún remordimiento de conciencia, es más lo volverían a repetir.
Pero si hay justicia en este mundo algún día serán juzgados por esta masacre.

El líder del Likud conservador, Benjamin Netanyahu, cerró este viernes una primera ronda de consultas con la extrema derecha y los partidos religiosos, con la esperanza de que se le confíe formalmente la tarea de formar el próximo gobierno de Israel.
Los representantes del partido religioso ultranacionalista Hogar Judío, con 3 de los 120 escaños del Parlamento en las elecciones del martes, prometieron apoyar su candidatura al puesto de primer ministro.

“Benjamin Netanyahu será primer ministro”, señalaba el editorial del diario liberal Haaretz, que apoyó abiertamente durante la campaña a su rival Tzipi Livni, del partido Kadima (centroderecha) en el poder durante la anterior legislatura.

“La elección está ahora en manos de Netanyahu”, añadía.

El partido ultraderechista Israel Beitenu (15 escaños) ha presentado una lista de exigencias tanto a Livni como a Netanyahu para formar parte de un gobierno de coalición, según la radio estatal.

Por encima de todo está que el gobierno actúe contra el terror, principalmente derrocando a los islamistas de Hamas, el movimiento en el poder en la franja de Gaza contra el que Israel emprendió recientemente una operación militar que en 22 días mató a más de 1.300 personas.

Israel Beitenu también quiere que el gobierno adopte una ley que supedite la ciudadanía a la lealtad al Estado, una medida que de aprobarse supondría la expulsión del país de cualquier árabe “desleal”.

Para reunir una mayoría, Netanyahu puede aliarse con la extrema derecha y las formaciones religiosas o tratar de formar un gobierno más amplio con la participación de Kadima.

La primera opción le asegura una mayoría de 65 diputados sobre 120. Desde un punto de vista de aritmética parlamentaria es ampliamente suficiente para formar gobierno. Pero desde una perspectiva internacional, el efecto sería desastroso.

Un gobierno comprometido con intensificar la colonización en los territorios palestinos y hostil a un compromiso territorial podría provocar fricciones con el nuevo gobierno de Barack Obama, que parece menos dispuesto a concederle un apoyo incondicional a Israel.

El propio Netanyahu se pronunció a favor de un gobierno abierto durante su campaña electoral, cuando reconoció que fue un error depender totalmente de la extrema derecha durante su primer mandato como primer ministro, entre 1996 y 1999.

Algunos dirigentes de Kadima no descartaron esta posibilidad, en especial el antiguo ministro de Defensa Shaul Mofaz, indicó el viernes la radio militar.

Otro dirigente del partido, cercano a Livni, el viceprimer ministro del gobierno saliente, Haim Ramon, tampoco lo ve con malos ojos.

Si bien Netanyahu parece ser el único con posibilidades de formar gobierno dado el giro a la derecha de los electores, el peso relativamente bajo de su partido en el Parlamento dificulta la tarea.

Con 27 escaños de los 120 totales, Likud es la segunda formación de la Knesset, por detrás de Kadima, que obtuvo 28 escaños.

El presidente Shimon Peres debe iniciar el miércoles sus consultas con los representantes de los partidos para la formación de un nuevo gobierno.

El candidato designado tiene un plazo de 28 días para presentar su gobierno al Parlamento, un periodo que se puede prolongar 14 días. En caso de fracaso, el presidente escoge otro candidato.

La Autoridad Palestina se inquieta ante una posible victoria del derechista israelí Benjamin Netanyahu en las elecciones legislativas israelíes, y cuenta con que el nuevo presidente estadounidense, Barack Obama, evite que este “halcón” entierre el ya maltrecho proceso de paz.

El recuerdo que los dirigentes palestinos tienen del actual jefe del Likud (derecha) es el de un primer ministro que hizo todo lo posible por sabotear el cumplimiento de los Acuerdos de Oslo sobre la autonomía palestina, durante su primer desempeño como jefe del Gobierno israelí, entre 1996 y 1999.

Ahora, Netanyahu, gran favorito según los sondeos para las elecciones del 10 de febrero, proclama su oposición a la creación de un Estado palestino soberano, tema central de las negociaciones entre el presidente de la Autoridad Palestina, Mahmud Abas, y el primer ministro israelí saliente, Ehud Olmert.

La Autoridad Palestina, sin embargo, se cuida de anunciar una preferencia y el presidente Abas, en su reciente visita a París, afirmó que los palestinos “trabajarán con cualquier persona que escoja el pueblo israelí. A condición de que no nos haga retroceder al punto de partida”.

Por su lado, el movimiento islamista Hamas, en el poder en la Franja de Gaza, y cuyo derrocamiento quiere Netanyahu, estima que todos los candidatos a las elecciones “son iguales y dan lo mismo”.

“Nosotros no esperamos ningún cambio en la entidad criminal”, declaró a AFP el portavoz del movimiento islamista, Fawzi Barhum, refiriéndose a Israel.

El negociador palestino Saeb Erakat estimó por su lado que la comunidad internacional, y sobre todo la administración del presidente Barack Obama, deberá alzar la voz frente a un movimiento israelí que pretenda eludir las negociaciones de paz.

“Si se diera el caso, Estados Unidos, Europa, Rusia y las Naciones Unidas deberán decir claramente que no hay un interlocutor para la paz en Israel”, declaró Erakat a AFP.

“Si el próximo Gobierno, lo dirija Netanyahu u otro, prosigue con la colonización y rechaza una solución basada en dos Estados (israelí y palestino), no habrá más proceso de paz”, sentenció.

El analista Mahdi Abdul Hadi, director de Palestinian Society for the Study of International Affairs (PASSIA) declaró que “no hay ninguna duda” respecto a la victoria de “la derecha extremista”, que a sus ojos encarnan Netanyahu y el ultraderechista Avigdor Lieberman.

Y “los palestinos pagarán el coste”, afirmó, precisando que “la misión Mitchell será la única ventana para la esperanza”, en referencia al nuevo emisario estadounidense para Oriente Medio, George Mitchell.

Wadi Abu Nasar, director del International Center for Consultations, con base en Haifa (norte de Israel), concuerda en que “el papel de Estados Unidos será determinante”, y subraya que “ahora la cuestión es saber hasta qué punto está dispuesta la administración Obama a presionar realmente a Israel”.

Mahmoud Abbas pide un mayor compromiso a Europa en Oriente Medio durante una sesión solemne en el Parlamento Europeo, el Presidente de la Autoridad Nacional Palestina a defendido la unión de su pueblo ante Israel y ha afirmado que trabajará por un Gobierno de Unidad para traer la paz a su país. Abbas a instado a la Unión Europea, exigir al Gobierno Israelí el cumplimiento de las leyes internacionales, hay que dejar de cooperar con Israel mientras que el país se salte las leyes e interrogar a los responsables de ello.
Debemos poner fin a todo esto y pedir explicaciones a los líderes israelíes por la violación de la leyes internacionales humanitarias.

Abbas pidió el fin del bloqueo de la Franja de Gaza y de las incursiones de los hebreos en territorio palestino , además reclamo el envío de tropas internacionales para proteger a la población, también solicitó a la Comunidad Internacional apoyo económico para la reconstrucción de la Franja cuyo coste total está estimado en unos 1.500 millones de euros, Arabia Saudí ya ha anunciado que donará la mitad del presupuesto.

El ministro de Defensa israelí, Ehud Barak, defendió hoy la actuación del Ejército israelí, tanto en la reciente operación en la Franja de Gaza como en el pasado, y aseguró que “ni España ni nadie más” le enseñará “moralidad”, en respuesta a la decisión de la Audiencia Nacional de investigar por crímenes de guerra a siete militares hebreos, entre ellos un ex ministro de Defensa.

El Ejército israelí es el Ejército más moral en el mundo e hizo todo lo posible para mantener a los civiles alejados de los disparos”, declaró Barak durante una conferencia en Herzliya, refiéndose a la reciente operación ‘Plomo fundido’ en la Franja de Gaza, en la que murieron 1.300 palestinos y más de 5.000 resultaron heridos.

No nos enseñarán moralidad los países en la región y no nos enseñará moralidad España ni nadie más, añadió el ministro de Defensa.

La semana pasada, el juez de la Audiencia Nacional Fernando Andreu admitió a trámite una querella dirigida contra siete responsables militares israelíes, entre ellos el actual ministro de Infraestructuras Benjamin Ben Eliezer, por un bombardeo perpetrado en un barrio de la Franja de Gaza el 22 de julio de 2002 en el que murieron 14 civiles, la mayoría de ellos niños.

Al día siguiente, los dos ministros volvieron a hablar telefónicamente y Moratinos informó a Livni de que el Gobierno estudia introducir “ajustes procesales” sobre la forma en la que se ejerce el principio de jurisdicción universal de los tribunales españoles, lo que implicaría modificar la Ley Orgánica del Poder Judicial.
